ESG consulting, answered

The regulations and standards our clients ask about most, in plain terms.

What is BRSR and who has to file it?

BRSR, the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report, is SEBI’s mandatory ESG disclosure for the top 1,000 listed companies in India by market capitalisation. BRSR Core is a smaller set of key indicators that must be independently assured or assessed, phased in from the largest listed companies and extended to their value chains.

What is CBAM and how should exporters prepare?

The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism covers carbon-intensive imports including iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity. Exporters should establish product-level embedded emissions using reliable plant and supplier data and maintain the evidence needed for CBAM declarations.

What is India’s Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS)?

CCTS is India’s regulated carbon market framework. Obligated entities in covered sectors are assigned greenhouse gas emission-intensity targets. Performance against those targets can result in carbon credit certificates that can be traded under the applicable mechanism.

What is the difference between Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from sources an organisation owns or controls. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased energy. Scope 3 covers other indirect value-chain emissions, including purchased goods, transport, business travel, use of sold products and end-of-life treatment.

Do you support ISO 14064 verification and product carbon footprints?

Yes. Planet Sustech supports ISO 14064 readiness and verification, along with other relevant ISO programmes. We also conduct life cycle assessments and product carbon footprints to identify hotspots, support buyer requirements and inform reduction opportunities.
